NSW: National Holiday Road remains at 25 on Christmas eve
The national holiday road toll stands at 25 after four people died this morning in
separate incidents in Victoria .. Queensland .. and New South Wales.
In Victoria .. a 63-year-old man died when his car collided head-on with a truck in
Heatherton .. about 8.40 (AEDT) this morning.
A second Victorian man died when the car he was travelling in collided with a taxi
in Melbourne's CBD about 5.40am (AEDT).
In Queensland .. a man riding a motorbike was killed after being hit by a bus in Brisbane's
northern suburb of Boondall just before six am (AEST).
And in NSW a woman was killed when a car .. in which she was a passenger .. ran off
the Pacific Highway and crashed into a signpost and trees near Port Macquarie just after
five am (AEDT).
Victoria tops the road toll with eight deaths .. followed by NSW on seven.
Queensland's toll sits at four .. there have been three deaths in WA .. two in the
Northern Territory .. one in South Australia .. while Tasmania and the ACT remain fatality
free.
